Faculty Bios

Hanson Librarian, Mrs. Cindy Hebert, is a native of Montegut, Louisiana. She is a graduate of Franklin Senior High School, class of 1966. After high school she attended Nicholls State University and obtained a degree in Business Education. Mrs. Cindy began her career at Hanson in 1971. Since her time here, Mrs. Cindy has been considered “a jack of all trades.” Prior to her position as Hanson’s librarian, Mrs. Cindy taught keyboarding, office practice, stenography, 8th grade math, English, and 10th grade religion. Currently, in addition to her Librarian position, she is the senior class sponsor, faculty secretary, and the Student Council advisor.

 

 

Mr. Ronnie Sinitiere attended Hanson School until the 8th grade when his family was moved to Donaldsonville as a requirement of his father’s job.  After graduating from high school, Mr. Sinitiere attended Nicholls State University where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Education, a Master’s degree in Administration Supervision with a minor in Industrial Technology, and his 30+ in History. He worked for the St. Mary Parish school system for 34 years.  There, he served as a teacher, Director of Adult Education, and as a principal. As a history teacher at Hanson, he loves connecting with his students.

Mr. Sinitiere and his wife of 43 years, Jane, are the proud parents of three daughters and the proud grandparents of seven grandchildren.

 

 

Coach Ryan Stoute is currently the Dean of Students, Athletic Director and Head Baseball Coach at Hanson Memorial. Coach Stoute graduated High School at Cecilia High and continued onto college at University of Louisiana Lafayette where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English Education with a minor in Kinesiology. His favorite thing about working at Hanson is having the chance to impact the lives of the students in the school community.

 

 

 Hanson Religion Department Coordinator, Mrs. Katie Landry, is a native of Jeanerette, Louisiana. She is a graduate of Jeanerette High School, class of 1974. After high school, she attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, majoring in Special Education. Mrs. Katie began her career at Hanson after obtaining her Master Catechist Certification from the Diocese of Lafayette. Mrs. Katie has been a part of the Religion Department for the 19 years she has been with us. She is currently the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade religion instructor. She is also the 4-H sponsor, a Junior Class sponsor, and Co-Catholic Schools Week sponsor.

 

 

 

 Mrs. Monique Lancon was born in Franklin, Louisiana and raised in the rural community of Ashton, Louisiana. Mrs. Monique is a graduate of Hanson Memorial, class of 1985, and she is the third generation of four in her family to graduate from Hanson. Mrs. Monique received a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education, Mathematics with a minor in Spanish from Nicholls State University in 2007. She heads the Math Department, teaching Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Advanced Math and Calculus. Mrs. Monique sits on the SACS Leadership Committee and sponsors the National Honor Society, High School Quiz Bowl teams, and Literary Rally team.  Each year, she takes the students who plan to study physics and the advanced maths to Engineering Day at UL Lafayette. She is a past recipient of Hanson Teacher of the Year.

 

 Mr. Melvin Coleman studied at Lamar University, where he received his bachelor’s degree, and at Nicholls State University and at the University of Louisiana (UL). He was awarded Coach of the Year in 1976 for baseball in Louisiana. After his service in the United States Air Force, he went to McNeese University where he earned his Master’s in Administration and Supervision. He then began teaching at West Saint Mary High School where he was awarded Teacher of the Year in 2001. After thirteen years there, Mr. Coleman then came to Hanson where he is currently in charge of Science Club and teaches both Chemistry and Physics.

 

 

 Mrs. Raquel Baker graduated high school here at Hanson Memorial in 1983. She furthered her education and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Louisiana State University. She received the Teacher of the Year Award for Hanson in the 2011-2012 school year. Mrs. Baker is currently teaching 11th grade religion, English I, and Introduction to Business.  She is also a part-time Curriculum Coordinator and works in our technology department. Mrs. Baker’s favorite thing about teaching at Hanson is building relationships with the students and showing her love and support towards them.

 

 

 Mrs. Michelle Tholen was born and raised in Morgan City, Louisiana. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English from the University of Maryland University College and a Master’s Degree in Theology from the Catholic Distance University. She has completed her Level I Catechist Certificate from the University of Dayton’s VLCFF. She currently heads the English Department, teaching English III and English IV in that discipline. In addition, she is our 10th grade religion instructor. Mrs. Michelle is also the 10th grade Sponsor, Pro-Life Coordinator, and is a member of the SACS Leadership Committee. In the past, she has worked as an editor and book reviewer, and she currently teaches online theology classes for the University of Dayton’s VLCFF program.

 

 

 Mrs. Marissa Verette is a 2008 graduate of Hanson Memorial High School. She graduated from the University of Louisiana in 2012 with a degree in Art Education. She returned to the Hanson family in order to bring visual arts to the school as the Art Education Teacher; she is Head of the Art Department. Mrs. Marissa is also currently the sponsor and coordinator of the school’s Campus Ministry as well as the freshman religion teacher.  Mrs. Roye graduated from Hanson in 1975. She continued her education at Nicholls State University and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education and Science. She teaches Religion, P.E. and Health, and is in charge of the Touch Program at Hanson. In the past, she coached basketball, cross country, softball, and track. Mrs. Roye loves to connect and establish a close relationship with her students.

 

 

 Mrs. Roxanne Lange is an alumnus of St. John Elementary and Hanson Memorial High School after graduating in 1984. Before returning to the Hanson family, Mrs. Roxanne worked at St. Joseph High School. She is currently the secretary of Hanson Memorial High School where she works closely with both the faculty and the students.

 

 

 

 Mrs. Kim Adams earned her bachelor’s degree at Northwestern State University and her master’s degree at the American Intercontinental University. She has been a part of the Hanson family for many years and has held numerous positions during that time. She began her career at Hanson in 1979 as a Physical Education and Journalism teacher; from 1986 until 2008, Mrs. Kim taught various subjects to junior high students. She became the Dean of Students in 2008 and was appointed Principal of Hanson Memorial in 2011; she currently holds that position. During her time at Hanson, Mrs. Kim has won both Teacher of the Year and Administrator of the Year awards.  As principal, Mrs. Kim’s future goals for Hanson are to increase enrollment and have stronger academics.

 

 

 Mrs. Monique Luke attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education in 1999. Prior to working at Hanson, Mrs. Monique taught seventh grade math for seven years at Centerville High School. She has been at Hanson for eleven years, where she teaches sixth through eighth grade math, Financial Math, and eighth grade science. She is a past winner of HMS Teacher of the Year.

 

 

 Mrs. Peggy Charpentier was born and raised in Franklin, Louisiana and graduated high school from Hanson in 1984. She went to the University of Louisiana Lafayette and received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. Before teaching at Hanson, Mrs. Peggy taught 3rd and 5th grade at St. John Elementary.  She is currently the Head of the English Department at Hanson; she also teaches 6th and 7th grade English, sponsors Student Council and Choir, and is the Mass Coordinator.

 

 

 After graduating from high school, Mr. Sinitiere attended Nicholl’s State University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, a Master’s Degree in Administration Supervision with a minor in Industrial Technology, and his 30+ in History. After graduating from Hanson, Coach Steiner attended college at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.  He holds his degree in General Studies from that institution.  Coach Steiner teaches 9th grade religion, Geometry, and leads our Campus Ministry team. He is also the head baseball coach and helps with coaching both our football and basketball teams. He loves teaching at Hanson because it is a Christ and Catholic centered school and because it is like coming back home for him.

 

Mrs. Stephanie Baudoin was born and raised in Franklin, Louisiana and is a graduate of Hanson Memorial, class of 1985. She attended University of Lafayette and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Apparel Merchandising. Mrs. Stephanie became the bookkeeper at Hanson in 2007. She currently holds that position, where her primary duties are tuition management and accounts payable.

 

Coach Jamarr Garrett is a 2006 graduate of Central Catholic High School in Morgan City, Louisiana.  After graduation, he attended Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond where he played football for 2 years.  He went on to graduate from the University of Louisiana Lafayette in 2011, receiving his bachelor’s degree from that institution.  He previously taught science and coached both football and baseball at his alma mater, Central Catholic.  He was named Head Girls Basketball Coach there, holding that position for 3 years and winning the 2014 Class 1A State Championship.  This is Coach Garrett’s first year at Hanson Memorial.  He teaches Biology I and II and Physical Science and assists as football coach.  He is the Head Coach of our Girls Basketball team, the Lady Tigers. 

 

 

Coach Paige Cavallin graduated from Northwestern State University where she majored in Psychology.  She played college softball for four years and is the head coach of our Lady Tigers Softball Team.  With her as their leader, the girls have made it to the State Championship Softball Tournament two years in a row.  Coach Paige also teaches Environmental Science, World Geography, Psychology, and PE.
