School Counselor

As school counselor of Hanson Memorial High School, I plan to implement a counseling program that addresses the needs of our students. Our program will consist of spiritual enrichment, academic, personal and social, and career awareness areas to better all students.

Greetings Hanson Family!

I believe in the principle of God first, then family, and work.  I am a practicing Catholic, a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Baldwin, a CCD teacher, a lector, a Eucharistic minister, and continuously learning about Catholicism. I am the oldest of 5 children. My husband is Ralph Martin, Jr., who has held that title for 36 years and looking forward to forever.  I have two beautiful daughters, Margo and Kimberly, who make me extremely proud to be called Mom.  They have blessed me with three grandchildren, Marlee, Nathan, and John-Luke, who have captured my heart.  I have been a breast cancer survivor since June 2006.

Academically, I am a 1982 graduate of Central Lafourche High School. I earned a B.S. Degree in Secondary Mathematics Education minor in Secondary French Education from Nicholls State University in 1987.  In 1995, I received a M.Ed. in Secondary Guidance and Counseling from Nicholls State University.  I have been an educator for 32 years: 9 years in the classroom teaching mathematics and 23 years as a school counselor.  I am excited to begin this journey at Hanson Memorial High School as the school counselor.  I look forward to meeting all of our students and parents as well as becoming a part of the family.
