TECHNOLOGY TAX CREDIT FOR DONATIONS TO EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS
Please forward or share with our business partners and community stakeholders.
As we roll toward the end of the year, businesses and individuals often anticipate year-end tax preparation, particularly charitable giving to offset taxes.
More attractive than a standard deduction, please be reminded that taxpayers who donate computer equipment to educational institutions are allowed a credit of 40 percent of the value of the property donated against Louisiana income tax(R.S. 47:37).
A monetary donation earmarked for technology or contribution of property is verified using the Certificate of Donation, Form R-3400 (attached PDF) or available at www.revenue.louisiana.gov. The completed certification form must be attached to the individual income tax return.
Because Hanson’s technology fee is insufficient to realize optimum technology planning, particularly the need to replace obsolete and malfunctioning computers, we find ourselves continually playing catch up. Thus, contributions of new computers or monetary donations to purchase new computers are welcomed gifts to improve the school’s quality of service.
Thank you for your consideration. |
