Touch
Religion IV – The senior students of Hanson Memorial High School are given the opportunity to serve the needs of others in two dimensions. They can elect to be a part of the Campus Ministry Class or Touch Class.
The Touch program is composed of classroom procedures three days a week learning about Christian Vocations and how to live out their Christian Faith, compiling a Touch journal and actual service-learning by volunteering at community agencies two days a week. The students are allowed to leave campus during this period twice weekly to assist the sick, elderly, handicapped, youth and people in need from our area. We are very appreciative of the Franklin Community Agencies for their cooperation and willingness to help expose our students to the Christian call of selflessness. Franklin Health Care, Emergency Aid, Chez Hope, J.A. Hernandez, Foster Elementary, St. John Elementary, Top Kids, The Learning Center and Church of Assumption.
The goal of this program is to prepare the students for the journey into life after high school and help them to become aware of the needs of others and their responsibility as Americans and Christians to assist with those needs. Through Touch, they reach out to people and by so doing, make our communities a better, happier place to live.
